Local Girl Rescued By Heroes With Simple Technology
A young girl in Dubberly was found and safely returned home late Sunday night after a group of heroes stepped in with drones.
On the afternoon of September 15th, Peyton Saintignan was declared missing, and the Webster Parish Sheriff's Office began a full search to find the 10-year-old. Webster Parish Sheriff Jason Parker assured the public that a full search was underway, with the assistance of Homeland Security and tracking dogs from Wade Correctional Center.
Later that same day, the Webster Parish Sheriff's Office shared publicly an update with an image of Peyton after she was spotted on a resident's trail camera near a wooded area.
Finally, Peyton was located at 11 p.m. on Sunday night after Drone Management Services LLC of Magnolia, Arkansas, offered to assist in the search with their specialty equipment drones. Sheriff Parker says that Drone Management Services offered to help after a member of the company learned about the search from their brother-in-law.
"She was in dense woods roughly 300 yards from where a trail camera had recorded her earlier Sunday Morning. She was asleep when we found her. We've had her checked by EMS and she is fine, back at home, and hungry," said Sheriff Parker.
After a long search with the assistance and equipment of Webster Parish Sheriff's Office, Minden Police Dept., Minden Fire Dept., Homeland Security, DeSoto Parish Sheriff’s Office, Bienville Parish Sheriff’s Office, David Wade Correction Chase Team, LA Wildlife and Fisheries, and a drone services company from Arkansas a 10-year-old girl is home safe and sound.
