Sadly, Texas (28th) ranks better than Louisiana (45th) when it comes to raising families. However, Arkansas (46th) isn't doing any better than we are and Mississippi (49th) is even worse. When you break it down, Louisiana ranks 13th in the study when it comes to family fun. We can live with that, but we ranked 46th when it comes to health and safety and that seems to be a real problem we're facing as a state. Louisiana ranked 46th for education and child care, 37th for affordability, and 49th when it came to socio-economics. Education and socio-economics are directly tied to each other, which also doesn't help us when it comes to health and safety. Our leadership has its work cut out for them.
