The Next Time You Go to the Grocery Store You Need to Stock Up on Sriracha.

Well, stock up on your favorite favorite Asian inspired chili while you still can otherwise you will have a very bland breakfast, we all use Sriracha on our eggs right?

Huy Fong Foods the producer of Sriracha is warning fans of the inevitable shortage. Why does this seem so familiar? Huy Fong Foods, Inc. is the nation’s leading sriracha sauce manufacturer, they warned us of the scary shortage back in April of 2023, and it fell on deaf years until we saw a shortage of Sriracha a stores all over the Ark-La-Tex. Just when we thought we were springing back from the shortage of 2023, we realize it is only getting worse.

Huy Fong Foods, Inc. released a statement saying that the red jalapeño chili peppers that are the main ingredient in the chili sauce are to blame. According to USA Today, Huy Fong Foods, Inc claims that their supply of chili is too green to proceed with production. Obviously this affects the color of the product. According to USA Today Huy Fong Foods told wholesale buyers, "We regret to inform you that we have decided to halt production until after Labor Day, when our next chili season starts."

All of the orders that have been scheduled starting May 6, 2024, will be canceled according to Huy Fong Foods Inc. Could it be that Huy Fong Foods is trying to cut corners and source their peppers from unreliable growers?
