I'll be honest, I didn't know we had tropical beach beauty like this in the great state of Louisiana!

Did you know that Louisiana has three tropical destinations that will make you think you're on a Caribbean Island?

Sure, I've heard of Grand Isle, Avery Island, and Holly Beach, but I've never actually been to any of those places. And this is coming from someone who has lived in Louisiana for over three decades and isn't afraid of travel. Check out this gorgeous reel my friend sent me on Instagram.

Now I don't know when these videos were taken, because Grand Isle has gotten pretty torn up by the last few hurricanes, but that water! Who knew that Louisiana had places with water that blue?!?! I surely didn't. When I think of water in Louisiana, I think of the brackish, hard-to-see-through stuff we have at Black Bayou and the like. Just to make sure the images in that video were correct, I did some sleuthing on the internet to verify these locations are truly as breathtaking as they've been made out to be, and yes, yes, they are! Check these out. The first is Grand Isle, followed by Avery Island, and Holly Beach. I'm thinking it's time to plan a road trip ;)
