Get ready to show your Pilot Pride, Shreveport. Shreveport residents are invited to a special community celebration for the LSU Shreveport Pilots baseball team this Monday, June 2nd, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Head downtown to Festival Plaza to honor our team, and wear LSUS Pilots gear. The public celebration will include appearances by players and coaches, remarks from university and city leadership, music, and food trucks.

The LSUS Pilots Have Made Baseball History

Although the team had already broken a record before Friday’s NAIA World Series matchup, the team was eager to continue to make history and defeated Southeastern, Florida, 13 to 7, and won the 2025 Avista NAIA Baseball World Series. This is the first time in LSUS Pilots' history to win a national championship. The astonishing 59-0 season is officially the longest win streak in College baseball history.

The New York Times said, "Earlier this season, LSU Shreveport broke the record for most consecutive wins by a four-year school, 46, previously held by Division II Savannah State across the 1999 and 2000 seasons. Friday's win broke the record for all levels, 57, set in 2009 by Howard College, a junior college in Texas."

LSUS Chancellor Dr. Robert Smith said, “It’s been a privilege to watch this team in their historic pursuit of perfection,” he added, “They’ve represented LSU Shreveport in the best possible way on a national stage, and we can’t wait to celebrate them back home in Shreveport.”
