Scott gifted $5.7 million to the Urban League of Louisiana, this is now the largest donation in the organization’s 84-year history.
What Does the Urban League of Louisiana Do for the Community?
The Urban League has existed to enable and empower African Americans and other disadvantaged persons to secure economic self-reliance, parity, power, and civil rights. This donation is to help support the organization that has been around since 1938. At first, the Urban League was just serving the New Orleans area however the Urban League expanded to a statewide entity in 2016. This is when the organization became the Urban League of Louisiana (ULLA).
