Man Robbed a Bank to Get Away From His Wife, Sentenced to House Arrest
This is easily one of the funniest news stories I've ever seen, talk about a plan back-firing.
Last year, a guy had simply had enough of his wife. He decided that he simply couldn't live with her anymore, and figured prison life would actually be better. This man is 71 years old, by the way.
In September of 2016, Lawrence Ripple robbed a bank in Kansas, although he clearly had no intention of getting away with it. In fact, once the "robbery" commenced, he sat down in the middle of the lobby and waiting for police to arrive.
Once they did, he informed them he mad the decision so he could go to jail and live away from his wife.
His entire plan just backfired in the most hilarious way.
Instead of serving the 71-year-old with actual jail-time, the judge ordered that he served 50 hours of community service and six months on house arrest.
Yes, his punishment is being FORCED to be in the same house as his wife.
