Many National Brands of Beer Found to Have Weed Killer in Them
The United Stated Public Intrest Research Group is reporting that many national beer brands have been found to have weed killer in them. Glyphosate is the main ingredient in Roundup and has been part of many recent lawsuits claiming the weed killer causes incurable cancer in Humans. Glyphosate was created by John E. Franz who worked for Monsanto Company- also known for creating Agent Orange.
The beers included in the study found to have traces of the weed killer include Budweiser, Miller, Coors, Sam Adams, Samuel Smith Organic, Guinness, Heineken, and New Belgium. There were also wines included in the study from Sutter Home, Barefoot and Beringer Estates.
The Glyphosate gets in the beers through the hops and barley which many growers have started to get away from using. Experts say these chemicals aren't just in your drinks but may also be found in your food.
