Mardi Gras 101: How to Respond to ‘Laissez Les Bons Temps Rouler’
Betcha didn't know there's a way to respond to the Mardi Gras catchphrase.
It's Mardi Gras season in Shreveport-Bossier, which means we hear a lot of "Laissez Les Bons Temps Rouler" being tossed around. And yes, I had to Google the spelling on that. While doing that, I noticed that Google auto-filled with "laissez les bon temps rouler reply."
Apparently, there is a way to respond to the popular French phrase.
Now, I've only lived in Shreveport-Bossier for two years, so obviously this is news to me. For some of you, this may be common knowledge. When someone shouts "Laissez les bon temps rouler" you should respond with "Oui, cher." In English, this means "Yeah, you right." Whether this is legit or not, I actually really like it and fully intend on using it for the rest of Mardi Gras season.
So let the good times roll!
(...yeah, you right!)
