Once again, folks in Minden, Louisiana, have knocked it out of the park raising a record amount of money for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, TN.

Every year Minden residents come together as a community to raise money for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital through an auction, raffles, a chili cook-off, a cornhole tournament, races, and more. It's a full four days of fellowship, food trucks, and fun activities. We thought last year was huge. After all, raising a record $1.6 million during a pandemic is nothing to sneeze at. But this year, a very special donation helped to put them over the top!

This weekend's four-day St. Jude Minden Auction raised a whopping $2,415,317 for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Thanks to the late Alford Davis, his gift of $674,072 will help to save the lives of even more children. Thank you, kind sir! But just because Mr. Davis was generous, that didn't mean that others didn't do their part. While I didn't give as much as he did, I did purchase $150 in raffle tickets. Sadly, I didn't win, but it's all for the kids and because of the community of Minden and their hard work, we're all winners!

Did you know that Minden raises more money per capita for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital than any other city in the United States of America?

If you missed out on the fun this weekend, don't worry, you can still give. Visit the Minden St. Jude website to donate 365/24/7!
