More Reports Of West Nile Virus Reported In Bossier Parish
The Louisiana Department of Health reports that in the past month 3 cases of West Nile Virus have been reported in Bossier Parish. This means so far for 2017 Bossier leads the state for West Nile Virus in humans but Baton Rouge has had the most mosquitoes testing positive for the virus.
The CDC says the easiest and best way to prevent the West Nile Virus is to prevent mosquitoes!
- Always wear insect repellant when outdoors
- Look out for sitting water around your home as this might help breed mosquitoes
- Instal screens on doors and windows
The Virus is transmitted through Mosquitoes so if you've been bitten and experience body aches, fever and headache you should contact your doctor.
