Every week, the Morning Madhouse highlights a different local charity in a segment we call #supportlocal.  The whole idea started a few years back when we realized that some of the best organizations were the smallest, and a lot of them had no idea how to get the word out about themselves.  We saw that we had the ability to help them communicate with you when they needed donations, had a festival, or simply to let you know they were there to help.

This week, it was our honor to speak with Verni Howard, Executive Director of The Providence House.  This fantastic organization helps homeless families by providing education, housing, and supportive services vital to getting good people stuck in a horrible situation back on their feet again.  Currently, their unit can house 27 families and provide them with essentials in an effort to get them back to a self-sufficient state.

The work they do is absolutely necessary, and for the families that need their help - they are a god send.  Give a listen to the interview below to hear how their work is helping homeless families near you.
