Natchitoches Parish Sheriff's Detectives are investigating the burglary of the Natchitoches Parish Fire Protection District #10 Fire Department and subsequent theft of a 2019 Ford F-550 fire truck in Powhatan according to the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff's Office.

On Wednesday evening, January 18, 2023 at approximately 7:35pm, Natchitoches Parish Sheriff's Deputies responded to a reported burglary at the Natchitoches Parish Fire Protection District #10 Fire Department located in the 100 block of La. Hwy 485 in Powhatan, La.

Deputies arrived on scene.

While speaking with the Fire Chief, deputies learned that forced entry had been gained through a door into the fire department.

Deputies learned that a red 2019 Ford F-550 brush fire truck with "Fire Protection Dist. 10 Powhatan, La" gold emblems on both doors with a light bar and spotlight bearing La. Public License Plate# 266061 had been stolen.

The fire truck last seen on January 15, 2023 is valued at $204,000.00 dollars.

Deputies gathered information at the scene for an offense report.

The vehicle has been entered into the National Crime Information Center as stolen.

Direction of travel is unknown.

The investigation is active and ongoing.
