A New Study That Will Make Shreveport Foodies Mad
According to Tripadvisor, Shreveport is home to seven fine-dining establishments and 118 restaurants featuring various flavors, but WalletHub would stop before suggesting Shreveport to a foodie.
- Shreveport has over 770 eateries, restaurants, grills, and cafes
- 209 of those have at least a four-star rating on Tripadvisor
- WalletHub has released a study ranking 182 cities for Foodies
- Shreveport is among those cities
What is a city for foodies?
WalletHub collected data from 182 cities across the country to determine which are the most affordable and welcoming to food fans. WalletHub defines a Foodie as someone who enjoys gourmet dining and trying new foods almost as a hobby.
The top cities for foodies include Miami, FL; San Francisco, CA; Orlando, FL; Portland, OR; and Tampa, FL. Florida has over 10 cities on the list of the best foodie cities so even though WalletHub hasn't done a study on which states are best for foodies, it's probably safe to assume Florida as a whole takes the cake.
Is Shreveport One of the Best?
Of the 182 cities in this study, Shreveport was the 5th worst of them all. Factors that contributed to Shreveport's ranking may include metrics like the cost of food in the city, accessibility of high-quality restaurants, restaurant meal cost, the ratio of full-service restaurants to fast food, and local restaurant reviews.
Of the 182 in the study, Louisana had two other cities that made the list. New Orleans, unsurprisingly, landed quite high on the list of cities for foodies at 36th place. Baton Rogue also made it onto the list as the 113th best city for foodies.
How To Find a Foodie City
WalletHub found the rank of each city through 28 metrics, analyzing data like the gourmet specialty-food stores per capita, coffee shops per capita, breweries & wineries per capita, and more that can be found with the full study at WalletHub's website.
