Officials with Dow Louisiana Operations say a Sunday morning explosion at their facility in Plaquemine is still under investigation. Preliminary reports suggested that a "vessel" had ruptured at the facility. That lead to the explosion. The situation was quickly brought under control and no injuries were reported.

As you can see from the Facebook post above made by Dow Louisiana Operations the situation has been normalized and there is no ongoing emergency at the facility at this time.

Several media outlets in Baton Rouge reported that residents heard or felt the explosion from several miles away. Some residents reported that the blast shook windows in their homes. There were no injuries or significant damage reports filed from outside the plant, however.
