Shreveport Has Slim Pickings When It Comes to Sushi.

So when it comes to great sushi spots we all do our best to keep them busy. One popular Sushi spot that always seemed to be busy whether it was lunch or dinner was Sushi-Gen. So many of my friends swear it's one of the best places for sushi.

Sushi-Gen Caught Fire in February and So Many Shreveport Residents Were Devasted.

Sushi-Gen is located on Line Avenue and on February 9th several people saw smoke break out. It wasn't long before the community realized Sushi-Gen had caught fire and was heavily damaged. Sushi-Gen has been feeding the community for over 13 years.

The Remodeling Has Taken Quite Some Time.

Sushi-Gen took to their Facebook page to ask the community not to forget them."We've been through a lot and had a tough time. We will come back with a new look and service after 2-3 months of remodeling. Please remember our Sushi-Gen during that time. We miss you."

Sushi-Gen Is Making the Grand Comeback But it is Not What the Original Plans Were.

Sushi Gen announced they have opened up a stand-alone building right next to where the original Sushi Gen was. They claim that there continue to be delays when it comes to construction and they are eager to open up and start feeding the community again. We are Eager to See What the New Permanent Location Looks Like.

However, for now, we are just excited to get our Sushi Gen fix.
