Shreveport’s Tallest Building Hits the Auction Block: What Happens Next?
One of Shreveport's most iconic buildings is up for sale. According to numerous sources, The Regions Tower building located in Downtown Shreveport, will be sold as part of the Caddo Parish Sheriff's Sale on October 29th.
The building itself isn't just the biggest building in Shreveport, standing at 365 feet and containing 25 floors, it's the tallest building in northern Louisiana period. The biggest question is how much will it sell for and who will buy it?

Who Could Buy Shreveport's Regions Bank Buildings?
This building is iconic in Downtown Shreveport. I'd have to imagine that a lot of folks will be interested in purchasing this property. My thought (and pretty much everyone I've seen online talking about it) thinks the answer of who will purchase this property is obviously the man that's been buying or leasing seemingly every piece of Downtown Shreveport property lately - Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson.
50 is constantly talking about getting his planned G-Unit empire started in Shreveport. He's faced a few obstacles along the way, but it doesn't seem like he's given up hope yet or backed down from his plans. In fact, just the other day, he posted the following on his Facebook page:
This Shreveport idea is getting bigger and bigger, I’m gonna turn this city all the way up. Let’s work it’s so much to do! Gunitbrands.com
And, 50 was just in town. So, guessing that he'd be interested in buying Regions Tower and turning it into G-Unit Towers isn't a far fetched idea. I have no idea if he's actually interested in buying it or not...but with his ever growing property list and all the grand plans he's been putting together, it would make a lot of sense.
According to KTBS, the building currently has an occupancy rate around 80%, so whoever buys it, has to be ok with having tenants already in place and dealing all that comes with that.
How Much Could Shreveport's Regions Tower Sell For?
From all the info about the sale online, I didn't see a starting bid price or anything. But, earlier this year, a similar style building went up for auction in Downtown Jackson, Mississippi. This property, much like the building in Shreveport, was called Regions Plaza and was owned by Hertz Investment Group.
So, lots of similarities. This building was 22 stories and the tallest building in Jackson. So, lots of parallels between this building and the one in Shreveport.
The Regions building in Jackson went on the auction block March 15th with a minimum bid set at $1.15 million. Ultimately, the building was bought for $2.97 million. Also, another parallel to Shreveport, the businessman that bought their Regions Building had been buying up downtown Jackson properties leading up to this auction.
Again, I have no inside information. I have zero idea if 50 Cent has any interest in buying this building. But, if he really is committed to making Shreveport his home base of operations, I'd think he'd have to at least explore the idea.
What Is 50 Cent's Plan For Shreveport?
Since he started buying up property in Shreveport, 50's Mantra has been "All Roads Lead to Shreveport". He brought a giant music & comedy festival to town called Humor & Harmony (Humor & Harmony 2 is already on the calendar).
He had hoped to have G-Unit Studios up and running in August of 2024, but due to numerous issues, that hasn't happened yet. But, he's been spending time here. He's been investing into the community. So, I actually have hope that 50 can put all the pieces together and make his epic vision happen.
And the sooner he can do it, the better.
