Report: LSU QB Brennan Likely Out for Season

One of the most unusual seasons in LSU football history took another unexpected turn Wednesday when Coach Ed Orgeron announced that starting quarterback Miles Brennan is most likely out for the remainder of the abbreviated season, that according to ESPN.

The sports network reported that Brennan, who has already missed games this campaign due to a variety of injuries, is likely done for the year and may even require surgery.

ESPN, in a Wednesday afternoon story, wrote that Orgeron told reporters, ""It doesn't look like he's going to be back, unless some miraculous thing happens."

Despite throwing for 11 touchdowns and only three interceptions in three games, Brennan was able to lead the Tigers to just one win, a 41-7 victory against Vanderbilt. In his other two starts, LSU lost to Mississippi State, 44-34, in their season opener and also fell to Missouri 45-41.

It was against Mizzou that Brennan suffered his first in jury of the year, an abdominal tear. He was unable to suit up in the Tigers next two contests, being replaced by true freshman TJ Finley. When Finley faltered, Coach O went with another freshie, Max Johnson.

The Tigers 2-3 start, following last season's undefeated national championship run, took another bizarre twist earlier this week, when the annual SEC East contest against Alabama, scheduled for Satiuday (October 14) was postponed due to a number of COVID 19 cases on the LSU team.

Orgeron has said that he expects most of those infected to be back on the field next weekend when the Tigers go on the road to face Arkansas.
