
Sandbags Available to Residents in Caddo and Bossier Parishes
If you are worried about possible flooding from Tropical Storm Harvey, you can now get sandbags in both Caddo and Bossier parishes. The bags will be available to residents through Friday.
In Shreveport, you can get sandbags from the City Streets and Drainage Department Yard at 3825 Mansfield Road from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.. Sandbags are also available at the Caddo Parish Department of Fleet Services located at 1701 Monty Street in Shreveport, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily for Caddo Parish residents.
In Bossier, you can get sandbags from the Bossier City Public Service Complex at 3223 Old Shed Rd. from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.. In the Parish, sandbags are available at the Bossier Parish Highway Maintenance Facility at 410 Mayfield St. in Benton.
Predictions on the impact from the storm locally vary. Some reports are predicting 3-6 inches of rain, others are calling for 7+ inches.
