While Marvel never confirmed any of their Phase Four Marvel Cinematic Universe movies before today, the official Disney release calendar has listed a mystery Marvel movie dated for May 1, 2020 for month. And according to local press reports, this mystery movie started shooting in Norway back in May. And it sure looked like Scarlett Johansson was hanging around that very same town in Scandinavia at the very same time this mystery production got underway.

Finally, at Comic-Con 2019, Marvel officially confirmed the rumors and revealed the truth: Black Widow is indeed the very first movie of Phase Four of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Here’s the official logo for the film:

The cast of the movie is absolutely stacked. In addition to Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, you also have David Harbour, Florence Pugh, O-T Fagbenle, and Rachel Weisz. The film is directed by Cate Shortland. The Comic-Con panel featured a presentation of the first footage from the movie — and included a fight between Black Widow and longtime Marvel villain Taskmaster, who has the ability to copy the movements of anyone he fights. And based on this description, it sure sounds like that’s what he does in the movie too...

That sounds awesome. Black Widow opens in theaters on May 1, 2020.
