Needless to say, racial tensions across the country are reaching heights perhaps not seen since the mid to late 1960s. And with the deaths of George Floyd in Minneapolis and Rayshard Brooks in Atlanta, hundreds of thousands of protesters have marched in support of, not only police reform, but the reformation of American political and cultural history.

Cries have been loud and long for the removal of statues and monuments that many feel glorify the slave-owning history of the South, while defenders say that they are historical icons that should be kept as a reminder of America's past.

Some protesters, however, have taken things into their own hands and vandalized, or in some cases destroyed, statues across the country. And in other cases municipalities have moved to have the structures taken down and relocated.
