Get Ready, Shreveport: This Fan-Favorite Donut Shop is Officially on its Way
A Houston-based donut shop is setting its sights on Shreveport-Bossier. You've likely encountered Shipley Do-Nuts during your travels through East Texas or the South. Now, the donut giant has signed a franchise development agreement to open five new shops in the Shreveport-Bossier City area.
It appears to be a growing trend for franchises to use Shreveport as their entry point into Northwest Louisiana, following examples like 7Brew and Dutch Bros Coffee. With all the new coffee shops popping up, these new donuts could be the perfect pairing.

Founded in Houston in 1936, Shipley Do-Nuts offers over 60 varieties of fresh donuts. However, Shipley enthusiasts often swear by their iconic plain glazed donut, known for its distinct hexagon shape.
The local entrepreneurs behind this venture are no strangers to bringing new concepts to the area. Steve Watkins and Walter Bigby of BC Restaurant Holding LLC are the same operators who brought the new Jersey Mike's locations to town and also manage five Zaxby's restaurants. The first Shipley Do-Nuts is slated to open in late 2026, so there's still some time before you can get your fix in Northwest Louisiana.
Some Shreveport locals are claiming that there should be more Southern Maid Donut locations built. Would you like to see more options when it comes to a sweet treat in the morning?
If you're interested in owning your own Shipley Do-Nuts, the brand is actively seeking franchisees in key markets across the South, Southeast, Mid-Atlantic, and Midwest. For more information, you can visit www.ownashipleydonuts.com.
