Good news for shoppers in town, the home decor and goods superstore at home will stay open in Shreveport. Despite the Dallas-based company filing for bankruptcy and closing several locations, over 200 stores will still be open across the country. But how long will Shreveport's home decor department superstore last?

Tariff Scare Hurts at home, Store Closures Incoming

Earlier this year, when the talk of a possible international tariff war was still new, the At Home chain of stores was reportedly looking at bankruptcy following a rocky few years due to the pandemic. On Monday, June 16th, 2025, the parent company behind every At Home retail chain filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy.

A Chapter 11 bankruptcy allows the company another chance to make a profit by restructuring under the supervision of a bankruptcy court. As part of the restructuring, the company announced what had been rumored: several of the company's worst-performing stores will be shut down.

Shreveport Stays at home, But For How Long?

The announced closures do not include Shreveport, but with the company in a bankruptcy filing, there's only so much hope for the retailer. If the store can't turn enough of a profit and the company can't find enough money elsewhere, it's likely more stores will be closed instead of bleeding out more money.

The company plans to keep each of the remaining stores fully operational. If things go well, there should be no sign of anything different going on at home. If the store does close before the end of the year, it'll be joining a list of once giant retailers that said goodbye to Shreveport this year, Big Lots, Joann's Fabric, and Burlington Coat Factory, to name a few.
