Louisiana Travelers: Avoid This Buc-ee’s on Your Beach Trip!

It feels like everyone in Shreveport is trying to escape right now, trading everyday reality for a week of relaxation. With back-to-school activities just around the corner, many families are rushing to squeeze in those last-minute vacations.

No matter why you're hitting the road, there's nothing quite like that feeling when you know the sweet relief of a Buc-ee's stop is on the horizon. A clean restroom, countless gas pumps, and a massive store packed with every snack you can imagine, Buc-ee's truly makes any road trip better.

Unfortunately, Not All Buc-ees Along Our Route are Worth a Stop

That "Beach Express" in Robertsdale, Alabama? It's anything but an express experience, and I've learned that the hard way, more than once. As much as I'm a hardcore Buc-ee's fan, this particular location consistently delivers one of the worst experiences.

Why do I keep going back? Honestly, I should know better. I thought I could crack the code and find that secret window when this stop wouldn't add at least an hour to my trip. But every time, it seems like the entire beach-bound population decided to pull over at Buc-ee's with me.

There is nothing express about this experience. We added another hour and a half to our trip back to Shreveport. Not only was the line to enter the restroom in complete havoc, but we ended up trapped in the parking lot for 45 minutes. Yes, this is with attendants guiding traffic. My average trip to a Buc-ee's is maybe 30 minutes at the most. This was supposed to be a quick bathroom break and filling up the truck.

If You Can Add An Extra Couple of Hours to Your Trip, Stop at This Buc-ee's.

If you're eager to get back home and you are okay with a mediocre bathroom and you're not crazy about snacks, just stop at any gas station. The Beach Express Buc-ee's is located at 20403 Co Rd 68, Robertsdale, AL 36567.

Did you know there is another Buc-ee's along your route to the beach? A brand new Buc-ee's is located right off I-10 at the Menge Avenue exit in Pass Christian, Mississippi. It's the perfect stop for travelers heading east from Louisiana into Mississippi. The best news of all, it isn't nearly as busy as the Beach Express location in Alabama.
