Shreveport / Bossier Retailers Already Looking for Holiday Help
Now that fall has officially arrived, it's basically Christmas. I know there are several big holidays yet to pass. We should certainly celebrate Halloween and Thanksgiving, but retailers in the Shreveport / Bossier City area have the Christmas shopping season square in their cross-hairs.
Big box retail stores in our area are already looking to bolster their seasonal employee numbers in preparation for the biggest shopping holiday of the year. Stores like Target, Best Buy and Academy Sports and Outdoors are actively searching and hiring extra personnel to man check-out lines, unload trucks, and stock shelves this holiday season.
Experts say this is nothing new. According to a report from KTBS, most of the bigger retailers start looking for seasonal help mid-summer. In fact, if you are counting on getting hired on for one of these positions in order to grab some extra Christmas cash - you may be running behind.
If you are on the hunt, apply right away. Most of these positions start at around $9 per hour. The other thing to consider is this: These companies are looking for lon-term potential in everyone of their holiday hires. If you are looking for year-round employment, this is the time to impress.
