Shreveport Parents Using 4 Gift Rule This Christmas
A new trend that took over Facebook in 2020 is ruining my Christmas shopping plans.
I have a living room full of toys for my nieces and nephews and now I have to return over half of the presents because according to my family they don't fit the "4 Gift Rule".
Have You Seen This New Way of Gift-Giving for Children That Took Over Facebook?
Could it be that the days of crazy spending on children at Christmas are coming to an end? A trend that has received attention from parents all over the Ark-La-Tex has me rethinking how I give gifts to my nieces and nephews.
The "Four Gift Rule" is very simple, it's almost like a rule of gift-giving. Parents all over the U.S. commit to giving their kids just four presents.
The gifts are:
- Something they want
- Something they need
- Something to wear
- Something to read
A friend of mine claims that this is just a way for parents to be stingy. Meanwhile, I am seeing several parents on Facebook claim this is a sensible idea that needs to become a tradition.
After going down a Facebook rabbit hole I saw that several parents are concerned that their kids wouldn’t be okay with them receiving multiple gifts a year for Christmas and the number of presents be trimmed down to just 4 presents.
Parents, have you tried this 4 gift idea yet? If so how has it gone in your home? Let us know in the comments below!
