The New Mountain Dew That Shreveport Won’t Get to Taste

Mountain Dew is well known for the brand's variety of flavors, with 26 different flavors rotating in and out of the regular lineup for the citrus flavored soft drink brand (not counting variations like diet dew or zero sugar). Back in 2004 Mtn. Dew shook hands with fast food chain Taco Bell to create the cult classic flavor Baja Blast, the first of many exclusive Mtn. Dew flavors. Since then, they've created dozens of new flavors. However, sadly, we here in Shreveport, Louisiana won't get to taste the new flavor.

Why Won't Shreveport, LA Get The New Mountain Dew Flavor?

Well, if you're anything like me you're probably excited to hear that there's a new flavor of Mtn. Dew hitting shelves later this month on the 26th, Mtn. Dew Infinite Swirl is described as "A new tropical punch flavor with a delicious combination of pineapple and berry in a vibrant blue color." But there's bad news for those of us here in the 318 who want to get a taste of this tropical flavor, as announced in a statement on their website, Infinite Swirl will only be sold at 7-Eleven convenience stores.

I'd imagine after learning it's only available at 7-Eleven you felt your heart sink as there hasn't been a 7-Eleven in the area in years, but there is good news for those willing to take a car trip for a bottle of the new Mtn. Dew. From here in Shreveport the nearest 7-Eleven is about an hour drive to just outside of Longview, Texas. So, if you're ready to hit the road you'll be happy to hear there's another Mtn. Dew flavor hitting 7-Eleven locations at the same time, a new Slurpee flavor, Mtn. Dew Freedom Fusion. Freedom Fusion is described in the same in 7-Eleven statement as "a lemonade peach flavored Slurpee."

These new flavors will be available at 7-Eleven and their franchises until August 27th.

It's Not All Bad News For Shreveport-Bossier

While we may not be able to get Infinite Swirl in Shreveport without a Smokey and the Bandit style road trip to Texas, it's not all bad news on the Mountain Dew front.

They have a partnership with Circle K where they occasionally get exclusive flavors. Plus, right now, they have a suite of limited time only flavors for the 4th of July/summer season including Liberty Chill, Freedom Fusion and Star Spangled Splash. So, we miss out on one flavor, but there are tons of others to check out.
