A significant number of Shreveport-Bossier residents are now facing direct impact from recent alarming online developments. Many women have been active in the various "Are We Dating the Same Guy" Facebook groups, which focus on local connections across Shreveport-Bossier, Northwest Louisiana, and even East Texas. These platforms have become crucial hubs for women to share dating experiences, often serving as a way to warn others about specific individuals.

However, the situation has taken a worrying turn. Many women who participated in these Facebook groups were drawn to the Tea App, believing it would offer a more secure and discreet way to stay informed. Unfortunately, those who downloaded the app are now experiencing major regrets, with some expressing grave concerns for their personal safety.

A significant data breach concerning the Tea App has sparked widespread worry, especially among Shreveport women. This exclusive, women-only platform was specifically designed for users to rate and review men they've encountered in dating, serving as a unique space to share experiences and even warn others about concerning individuals. Now, with sensitive user data confirmed to be compromised and potentially exposed, the concerns are particularly profound for local women who have been victims of abuse from previous partners, grappling with heightened fears about their privacy and digital security.

What do we know about the data breach? On Friday, July 25th, Tea Dating Advice Inc. announced that there had been a major breach. Over 72,000 user images, including highly sensitive verification selfies and government-issued IDs, had been leaked online. Why is this dangerous? Multiple reports on social media have stated that some users are now creating maps to track women who allegedly "doxxed" men by sharing their details on the Tea app, seemingly as retaliation for the breach.

Although Tea has stated they've engaged third-party cybersecurity experts to secure their systems, the damage has already been done. The information is out there. Although the Tea App claims that this only affected its users who signed up before February 2024, several women have deleted all their information and deleted the app.

Do you feel like your information is safe out there? Are you worried about a previous partner trying to get revenge?
