Chef Blake Jackson has turned heads yet again. No, he isn't opening a new restaurant, however, he has created a unique dish that has several Shreveport residents considering swapping a traditional hot dog for a unique seafood experience.

The Shreveport Chef Has Found a Unique Way to Bring Diners to South Shreveport

Chef Jackson just opened up the latest dining destination in the Provenance Community. Heron is nestled in the Provenance Community right next to Mae & Co. Although both restaurants are owned by the same chef, they are two different concepts. Chef Blake Jackson is always keeping us on our toes when it comes to restaurants, but has he crossed the line when it comes to unique creations?

Shreveport's Octodog: Hotdog Meets Octopus

Could this be the next item you order when you go to watch your favorite baseball team? Chef Jackson said in a Facebook post, "I need some honesty here. Are y’all ready for the Octodog? Tender Spanish Octopus, finished on the yakitori grill, Romesco ‘ketchup’ and Carrot Escabeche ‘relish.’ Won’t lie; it was delicious. But- would you eat it?" The comments were hilarious but supportive. It looks like Chef Jackson will have to make the Octodog a thing. Maybe he was being funny with his post, but foodies from all over Shreveport started to chime in, claiming they would "tear the Octodog up," and one person said the question wasn't if they would, but how many they could eat in one sitting.

Although Chef Jackson described the dish as if he's on a Food Network show one person claimed, "I would eat up until I see the suction cup thingies." Would you try the Octodog? You can visit Heron and see if they have one of Shreveport's most unique creations ready to serve. Both of Chef Blake's concepts are housed side by side at 1023 Provenance Blvd, Suite 200, in Shreveport.
