Our favorite horror-comedy duo is back and better than ever. Simon Pegg and Nick Frost have given themselves an upgrade and formed a joint film and TV production banner called Stolen Picture, and it’s about time. The Cornetto Trilogy and Paul stars have been working together for decades, infusing all of their projects with their own blend of personal style and pop culture homage. Now that Edgar Wright has moved on to deeper waters, it’s good to see Pegg and Frost back at it again together. And that’s not all — Stolen Picture’s first movie has already been announced, and it’s a horror-comedy titled Slaughterhouse Rulez.

Slaughterhouse Rulez is set in an elite boarding school – Welcome to Slaughterhouse – where boys and girls are groomed for power and greatness and they’re about to meet their match. The story’s hero, Don Wallace, is a wide-eyed new boy from a modest background forced to navigate a baffling new world of arcane rules and rituals, presided by sadistic sixth formers. Matters of status are aggressively enforced and conversation with school goddess Clemsie, are strictly forbidden.

But this ancient and ordered world is about to be shaken to its foundations – literally – when a controversial frack site on prize school woodland causes seismic tremors, a mysterious sinkhole and an unspeakable horror is unleashed. Soon a new pecking order will be established as pupils, teachers and the school matron become locked in a bloody battle for survival.

That sounds fantastic, and with Pegg and Frost executive producing, it’s sure to have at least a little bit of their stylized panache. It sounds kind of like a Kingsman situation: boy joins elite society of peers in age but not in money, and is forced to work together with them to fight a larger evil threatening their society. And Kingsman was popular enough to get a sequel, sooo.

Crispian Mills, who worked with Simon Pegg on A Fantastic Fear of Everything, wrote the script with henry Fitzherbert and will direct. Slaughterhouse Rulez doesn’t yet have a release date.
