Do you remember the food truck park that opened in south Bossier Parish last fall? Six months later, it's gone?!?

What happened to the SoBo Food Truck Park in Bossier City, LA?

Last fall, September 12, 2023, to be exact, I wrote a story about a new food attraction coming to the southern section of Bossier City referred to as SoBo. SoBo is a great community and generally supportive of new business ventures so I really thought the food truck park would be a big hit. But here we are six months later and I'm reading that it's already closed in the 318 Eats! Facebook page. I decided to do a quick Google search and this is what came up... permanently closed :(

The South Bossier Food Truck Park was located at 3420 Barksdale Boulevard in Bossier City next door to El Mariachi Mexican Restaurant. While I don't think the location was an issue about community support, ie south Bossier City is a good place to be, but it could have been about the specific place where it was located in SoBo. One of the commenters on the 318 Eats! Facebook page mentioned that the smell from the nearby sewerage plant might have been a detriment. Just ask the folks who used to own that Mexican restaurant on Youree Drive that folks used to call 'El Porta Potty.'

I certainly hope that the short shelf life of this enterprise doesn't prevent anyone else from trying the business model. I think a food truck park with regular entertainment and a rotating menu of offerings could do well in our area.
