Summer is Coming! Raise a Glass With Louisiana’s Favorite Cocktail
If Louisiana is raising a glass, it's most likely with this cocktail.
Over the last few years, I've fallen in love with cocktails. Not in a drunken, "woo girl" kind of way. It's more of an appreciation of what it takes to create a perfectly balanced cocktail. Being able to craft a drink with the right amount of acid, sugar and zing from the booze it truly a work of art. My go-to liquors are typically bourbon or gin.
Of course, everyone's got their favorites including the state of Louisiana.
According to Thrillist, Louisiana's favorite cocktail is... well, it's not at all surprising. We love a good Daiquiri. I mean, why else would we have so many drive-thru Daiquiri locations in the SBC alone? We're the only state that chose this drink as our favorite. I like the fact that there was no distinction when it comes to flavor because in Louisiana there are about a bazillion of them.
The most popular cocktails across the nation are Long Island Iced Tea and Whiskey Sour, followed by Moscow Mule. Classic brunch drinks like Mimosa, Tequila Sunrise, and Bloody Mary were also number ones in nine states.
