Suspect In Greenville Shooting In Custody

According to Dallas Morning News, Hunt County authorities arrested 23-year-old Brandon Ray Gonzales on a capitol murder charge in connection with the deadly shooting at an off-campus party celebrating Texas A&M-Commerce's homecoming that left two dead and six others recovering from bullet wounds. 

Hunt County Sheriff Randy Meeks told the news outlet that Gonzales was arrested at work at a local auto dealership. No motive has been determined.

The two victims who were fatally shot have been identified as 23-year-old Kevin Berry Jr. of Dallas and Byron Craven, also 23, of Arlington. As of Sunday, four of the six others who were shot were in critical condition. Others were injured trying to excape.

The shooting took place about 15 miles southwest of the Texas A&M-Commerce Campus in Greenville early Sunday morning at a Homecoming "Twerk or Treat" costume party.

Since the shooting, Additional security measures were put inlace at Greenville High School after a student working at a fast food restaurant overheard a customer say a smiler act of violence would occur there. Also a vigil planned for today (Monday, October 28) was canceled after gunfire erupted at a Dallas vigil on Sunday that was planned by friends and relatives of Berry. No one was hurt.
