Shreveport Ice Cream Shop Announces Closure

Ice Cream Lovers in Shreveport are Losing a Local Favorite.

On Saturday, December 14th, Sweetport Scoop Shop made a heartbreaking announcement to all of their Facebook followers. Sweetport announced they will close the doors to one of Shreveport's favorite ice cream shops. will be closing its doors after December 31st. The good news is that you can still enjoy some goodness from Sweetport they will have a Christmas Tea and a New Year’s Eve Family Fondue party.

It is always so sad to see business close and we know that it has been hard for Sweetport to make the heartbreaking announcement. They opened up their statement with "Sharing this news is far from easy" The crew claimed that they will embrace a new chapter but they didn't specify what that new chapter will be. "Dear Sweetport Friends,

Sharing this news is far from easy, but we feel it’s time to embrace a new chapter. After December 31, 2024, the Sweetport Scoop Shop will be closing its current location. This has been a deeply difficult decision for our family, but we believe it’s the right one for us moving forward.

As we count down to our final days at the Scoop Shop, we’re excited to host a few special events, including a Christmas Tea and a New Year’s Eve Family Fondue Night—stay tuned for details!

While the Scoop Shop may be closing, Sweetport isn’t going anywhere. We’ll continue to operate our commercial facility, fulfilling cake orders and crafting other sweet treats for you to enjoy. Look for future posts on how you can get your hands on our treats in the new year.
