Friday night, I had the privilege of experiencing one of the coolest Halloween-themed venues in town. Taylortown's Haunted House and Corn Maze is the real deal and I expect it to absolutely dominate this Halloween season.

I've grown up here in town and I must say, it felt nice to not have to drive over an hour to experience a true corn maze.

Taylortown is located at Faith Farms in Elm Grove just off highway 71. From my home on Clyde Fant, it took just twelve minutes to get there. When I arrived, I was blown away by the staff and the environment itself.

When you arrive, you'll notice a jump house for the kids, and several concession options. Then, the fun begins. All within walking distance from the entrance, you have a huge corn maze, a perfect haunted house, and an terrifyingly awesome attraction dubbed "The Last Ride".

We'll begin with "The Last Ride" because I recommend experiencing that first. This attraction features a coffin, and nothing else. You may be saying that doesn't seem too scary, but let me explain. This is no ordinary coffin, it's a life-like experience where the person inside the coffin truly feels as though they are being buried six feet under. The coffin moves and shakes and rattles and comes equipped with sounds and smells that complete the experience. It's truly awesome.

The corn maze at Taylor Town is truly amazing. It's extremely large, and not too easy to get to the end. In fact, I walked through with the person who created it, and we made a few wrong turns that, in the end, made for a much greater experience. The corn maze is haunted my Kernel Kobb, who will surprise you at almost every turn. My favorite part of the huge corn maze is the addition of Batman. Yes, Batman also hides in the corn, but he isn't there to scare you, he's there to protect you from Kernal Kobb and I found that hilariously awesome.

The haunted house is a pure treat. It's really great because the scares are so good and completely unsuspecting. The actors inside the house are very convincing at the atmosphere is exactly what a haunted house should be. One of the best haunted houses I've walked through in the ArkLaTex.
