Texarkana Teen Accidentally Shoots Himself in the Buttocks with Stolen Gun

A Texarkana, Texas, teenager is being treated at Wadley Hospital after accidentally shooting himself in the buttocks with a stolen revolver.

Police say 18-year-old Dakota Young initially told them he was shot by an unknown suspect while walking in the 1100 block of Pine Street. But a witness who was with Young at the time led officers to the 1100 block of Olive Street, where they found a .38 caliber revolver.

Young later admitted he made up the story, and that his wound was self-inflicted. The gun, and a cell phone in Young's possession, were both reported stolen from a vehicle in the area. Young could be facing criminal charges once he's released from the hospital.
