New Delivery Drones Set to Launch This Week in Texas
Let's face it: The shipping crisis has been hard on everyone. The difficulty getting cargo from point A to point B has caused prices to go up, and availability of almost everything to go down. COVID-19 restrictions, a dwindling supply of workers, and more factors have compounded the effort to get things moving again, but Wing has a plan to alleviate at least some of the headaches by taking a direction few others have even thought of - up.
According to the latest report from Tech Crunch, Wing (owned by parent company Alphabet) is ready to launch their highly anticipated drone delivery service this week in Texas. More specifically, the new delivery service is being rolled out in Frisco and Little Elm (towns in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex). Wing boasts that deliveries using their service will be as fast as a mile a minute! Just imagine living 8 miles from the store and getting your package within 8 minutes of your order - that's fast!
Wing's primary partner is Walgreens, but that's just the tip of the iceberg. The company also has deals with Texas Health for pet medications, and Blue Bell for ice cream. The company plans to add more options for shoppers in the near future.
