The Food Bank of Northwest of Louisiana will be sending a 53’ trailer load of water and Meals Ready to Eat (MRE’s) to the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank, a sister food bank down in South Louisiana.

Because of the recent, detrimental flooding in the Baton Rouge area, the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank was severely damaged with over 4’ of flood water, leaving them unable to provide assistance to the community affected by the flood.

So, with that being said, the The Food Bank of Northwest of Louisiana will be loading a truck with 16 pallets of water (40,704 pounds) and 6 pallets of MRE (5,184 pounds) and heading down to Baton Rouge on Wednesday with the truck being valued at $77,400.

The donation is partly made possible by the generous transportation donation by R&M Transportation from Omaha, Nebraska.
