Shreveport Parks and Recreation, affectionately known as SPAR, is always active bringing the latest and greatest to Shreveport.

Their latest endeavor is to ensure the pantry is stocked at the Food Bank of Northwest Louisiana.

The food drive runs through Monday, February 17 and we hope you can help! Here's more courtesy of Becky Berry at SPAR:

Shreveport Public Assembly and Recreation (SPAR) announce their annual canned food drive benefitting the Food Bank of Northwest Louisiana. The canned food drive kicks off Friday, January 17, 2014 and runs through Monday, February 17, 2014.
Each of SPAR’s Community Centers will collect donated canned food items. SPAR encourages all City of Shreveport employees, neighborhood associations, local businesses, civic organizations, schools, churches and all individuals to participate in this community service event. All canned good donations will go to the Food Bank of Northwest Louisiana.
Please drop off canned food items at your nearest SPAR Community Center. Community Centers are open from 8 AM to 8 PM, Monday through Friday and 9 AM to 3 PM on Saturday. For a listing of SPAR Community Centers, please visit myspar.org.
Donations will also be accepted at Government Plaza (505 Travis), SPAR’s Maintenance Facility (1033 Shreveport-Barksdale Highway) and SPAR’s Event Services (101 Crockett).
