The Last Blockbuster Can Now Be Rented Through Airbnb

I have always wanted to visit Bend, Oregon for one simple reason, a throwback to my childhood. Bend, Oregon is home to the last remaining Blockbuster in the world. I remember going to Blockbuster on the weekends as a kid. We would get snacks and scour the whole store for the best movie. Sometimes we were lucky and were able to convince our oldest sister to get us TWO movies. I remember looking forward to the weekends during my elementary years because renting a movie was a huge experience for us.

The legendary store has decided to become an Airbnb so families can feel like they're living their best retro life. The Blockbuster will open for three families that live around Bend, Oregon, so unfortunately you and I are not able to apply. This is that moment we all scour our friend's list on Facebook and find out who lives near Bend.

The Airbnb listing info said "Hey Deschutes County residents! Dust off those membership cards for a sleepover inside the world’s last BLOCKBUSTER. When you call dibs on this stay, you’re booking a night back in the 90s, but this time you won’t have to beg your parents to rent the latest horror flick–we’ll give you the keys to the entire store!" How much will a flashback to 1996 cost you? Only $4, basically the price of renting a movie at Blockbuster. What will you experience? A straight-up '90s living room with a huge television that isn't widescreen, a VCR, a bean bag chair, a pull out couch so you can pass out as you watch an unlimited amount of movies, plus candy and snacks galore.

If you're like me and bitter that you can't go rent out Blockbuster for the night, you can call the Blockbuster for a good ole fashioned movie recommendation. They're mocking Netflix and their algorithms. You know how you log into Netflix and they give you a bunch of suggestions?
