This Weeks #supportlocal Recipient is Project Celebration

The national statistics on domestic and sexual abuse are staggering.  According to the National Domestic Violence Hotline, in the United States "24 people per minute are victims of rape, physical violence or stalking by an intimate partner."  This is the kind of horrible circumstance destroys individuals and families by the score - and by extension, weakens our entire country.  Thankfully, we have fantastic people right here in the Shreveport / Bossier City who are fighting against this plague on our happiness and right to live free of violence.

Project Celebration is a fantastic non-profit organization that helps individuals and families that are struggling to recover after dealing with these (and many other) issues.  They help get folks back on the track to a successful and happy life by hosting Child Advocacy, Family Resource, Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault, Outreach, Education, and Counseling programs designed to educate, empower, and lift them up.  

Coming up on Friday, April 13th, Project Celebration is hosting their First Annual 5K!  It's actually 2 runs: the color fun run kicks off at 6pm, and a glow run will start at 7pm.  The organization also promises food, entertainment, and fun for the whole family!  Find out more by clicking here.
