Train Full of Holiday Cheer Pulling into Shreveport
Coming up on December the 1st, the Kansas City Southern Holiday Express will be steaming to a stop to deliver it's cargo of Christmas cheer to Shreveport. This will be the 7th annual stop at KCS yard (located at 4500 North Lakeshore Dr. Gate 5), and if you are looking to jump start the holiday season - this is the perfect event! It's free and open to the public, so there's no reason to miss it!
According to their website, the train itself is made up of beautifully restored rail cars that feature a smiling tank car named Rudy; a flatcar carrying Santa's sleigh, reindeer and a miniature village; a gingerbread boxcar; the elves’ workshop; a reindeer stable; and a little red caboose.
They are also working with the Salvation Army to collect warm clothes and other needed items for children in need. Not only will you receiving a fantastic holiday feeling, you'll also be spreading it.
