Another country music superstar took to the ice ahead of the Nashville Predators 2017 Stanley Cup Playoffs game on Monday (May 22) at Nashville's Bridgestone Arena to sing the National Anthem. Trisha Yearwood knocked the song out of the park before Game 6 of the series against the Anaheim Ducks.
Not shy about her support of the home team, Yearwood wore a No. 17 Predators jersey as she hit every right note of the challenging song. Her pitch-perfect performance was backed by the fans in the crowd — you could hear the pumped-up arena singing right along with her. The country superstar's voice soared throughout the venue as she held her hand over her heart and nailed the big notes. Her stellar rendition elicited loud cheers from the audience.
After singing the anthem, Yearwood led the towel wave with former Tennessee Titans running back-turned-actor and entrepreneur Eddie George, also wearing a Predators jersey, with both stars enthusiastically kicking off the game.
The "She's in Love With the Boy" singer follows a slew of fellow country superstars who have performed the anthem ahead of the Predators home games during the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Carrie Underwood kicked off Game 3 against the Chicago Blackhawks, launching a string of National Anthem performances by the likes of Luke Bryan, Little Big Town, Lady Antebellum, Vince Gill with daughters Corrina and Jennifer, Kelly Clarkson and Keith Urban.
Yearwood is currently on tour with her husband Garth Brooks on their 2017 World Tour. The dynamic duo wrap up dates in the U.S. before heading across the pond to perform multiple dates in Europe.
