Two Shreveport Police Officers Face Criminal Charges From Mother’s Day Brawl

Two Shreveport Police Officers are facing criminal charges after their involvement in a brawl that broke out on Devaughn Street on Mother's Day.

The Caddo Parish District Attorney's Office says Officer Cinterrica Mosby is charged with one count of Malfeasance in Office, which is a felony, with bond set at $5,000. While Officer Phillip Tucker has been charged with a misdemeanor charge of one count of Simple Battery, with a bond set at $1,000.

The charges come as a result of a Caddo Parish Grand Jury.

Both Mosby and Tucker were part of the large police presence during a neighborhood melee in the 2500 block of Devaughn Street the afternoon of Mother's Day. May 12th, 2019.

While the Grand Jury did decided to charge Mosby and Tucker, there were two off-duty officers at the scene of the brawl who the Grand Jury declined to charge.

According to a release from the Caddo District Attorney's Office:

"Earlier this month, the same Caddo Parish Grand Jury returned no true bills for four individuals who were arrested by police for charges arising out of the same incident. Cynthia Davis was arrested for simple assault and battery of a police officer; Torell Lewis was arrested for resisting an officer with force, interfering with a law enforcement investigation and resisting an officer; Antoine Hardeman was arrested for resisting an officer with force, battery of a police officer and interfering with a law enforcement investigation; and Viola Green was arrested for battery of a police officer. As a result of the findings of the Grand Jury, the charges against those four individuals were dismissed by Caddo Parish District Attorney James E. Stewart Sr."
