I am doing a challenge called 75 Hard. It's 75 days of what I feel hell feels like. 75 days of several tasks that you must complete and if you fail one of these tasks you must start over the next day. I am determined to finish 75 Hard on my first attempt. One of the tasks is to workout outdoors for 45 minutes every day.

During one of my outdoor workouts, I stumbled upon a sign that stopped me in my tracks. There I was miserable, cursing under my breath but what about our community that lives in the harsh elements that I am facing right now?

Day 14 of 75 Hard. The outdoor work out had me cussing under my breath and then I stumbled upon a sign that made me shut...

After what I felt was a grueling 45-minute walk I had the blessing of going back into a warm place. The sign that stopped me in my tracks belonged to someone who was surely homeless and was hoping to snag a couple of dollars from someone driving by. Where did this homeless veteran go? Did they find shelter? Where are they now?

The questions bugged me the whole way back to my hotel. The thought consumed the remainder of my walk. Where can the homeless people in our community go and seek shelter when we are facing record-breaking temperatures?

Although many ministries are not currently accepting volunteers due to Covid-19 restrictions, we can help with monetary donations. I have found some ministries in Shreveport-Bossier that are in desperate need of help as they are providing shelter and warm meals to those in need.
