"Gravity" continued its grip on the top of the box office charts with an estimated take of $31 million.

The space thriller, starring George Clooney and Sandra Bullock, has so far taken in $170 million domestically and more than $250 million worldwide.

Tom Hanks's "Captain Phillips" and the remake of "Carrie" tied for third with $17 million each, while "The Fifth Estate" was DOA, coming in eighth with $1.7 million.
