Lil Wayne Just Misses A Milli

Lil Wayne's new CD "Tha Carter IV" sold 964,000 copies in its first week of release according to Nielsen SoundScan. This makes it the second-highest first-week seller so far this year, putting it behind Lady Gaga's 1.1 million copies of "Born This Way".

Lil Wayne fell short of his own sales record set by his 2008 release "Tha Carter III", which sold just over 1 million copies in its first week of release.

Lil Wayne dropped "Tha Carter IV' on I-Tunes immediately after his appearance on the MTV Video Music Awards Sunday, with the physical CD hitting stoers two days later.
