Update your calendars! This year's festival for Louisiana Film Prize has been pushed back one week.

Louisiana Film Prize has pushed the dates for their annual festival back one week out of respect for the Jewish holiday Yom Kippur. The festival was originally scheduled for October 3-5, but will now be held on October 10-12.

According to lafilmprize.com, director Gregory Kallenberg said the move was surprisingly seamless and all events will take place at the same times, just a week later.

This also means that the annual Music Prize will be held on October 9.

LAFP was started in 2012, giving filmmakers from across the country an opportunity to produce a short film in hopes of winning a $50,000 grand prize. Each film submitted must be shot in Northwest Louisiana. This year's entries surpassed the 100 mark. The Top 20 submissions will be announced on August 12 at Robinson Film Center.
