Mayer’s Album Pushed Back, Shows Canceled Due To Illness

Singer John Mayer revealed Friday that he has an inflamed nodule near his vocal cords, forcing him to cancel his upcoming appearances with Tony Bennett in L.A. and Las Vegas.

Mayer is also delaying the release of his fifth studio album Born and Raised, originally scheduled to drop in October.

In an announcement on Tumblr, said the album is "complete as far as music recording, song selection, and in some cases mixing, but because of this condition I couldn't finish singing on several of the tracks."

The singer remains optimistic, telling fans, "I'm looking forward to seeing you again soon. Until then take good care."
