Part of New Orleans Flooded by Isaac [PHOTOS]

Rain from Isaac flooded outlying areas of New Orleans Thursday. Waters rose very fast and several buses and high-water vehicles were sent to help evacuate about 3,000 people.

The Louisiana National Guard worked with sheriff’s deputies and rescued people stranded in their homes where floodwaters were waist deep.

Things are beginning to get back to some what normal inside the city of New orleans.

About 900,000 homes and businesses around the state are without power, that included about 157,000 in New Orleans.

A truck driver was killed Thursday morning in Picayune, Miss., just across the state line from Louisiana, when a tree fell on his truck while Isaac was causing heavy rain and strong winds.

Downed power lines, scattered tree limbs and minor flooding are the main problems in New Orleans at this time.
